Choosing Aga Fuel Types

aganomicsThere is a very important point to remember when considering which model of Aga to choose. No matter the fuel source, every heat storage Aga cooks in the same unique way, delivering delicious results time after time. Electric Aga’s cook and warm the kitchen exactly like the Oil or Gas equivalents.

OIL

The oil fired Aga of today is in fact quite similar to the first oil Aga introduced in 1959. Of course, certain parts have been improved and upgraded over the years, but the fundamentals of the tried and tested vaporising burner have thankfully remained intact.

Modern thermostats regulate the Aga temperature and ensure oil is only used when necessary. For example, throughout the night and during times when no cooking is taking place, the burner will reduce from high to low fire, therefore saving energy.

GAS or PROPANE

The Gas Aga is extremely clean burning and available with either a Conventional, Balanced or Powered Flue. This flexibility makes installation in numerous different positions a possibility.

Some Gas models are now available with AIMS, the new intelligent management system which allows energy savings of up to 20%. Using a simple remote control, the Aga can be programmed to sleep when you sleep and be ready to cook only when necessary.

Off-Peak Electric

The 30amp Electric Aga has been part of the Aga family for over 20 years. This energy saving, revolutionary cooker is extremely popular, thanks to the unique way in which it operates. Similar to a giant battery, this model acquires heat utilising cheap ‘off peak’ electricity, storing the energy for use only when needed. A fabulous tried and tested ‘efficient’ method that will shave pounds off your fuel bill.
